Yo. So I ran into Jake and he mentioned that he is starting up a polo game every Sunday at 2pm over at the civic plaza lot. There are a ton of people on bikes in this town, I am sure that some of you are at least curious about the game of bike polo. Well, come down and check it out. It isn't much fun if there are only two people.
As far as I know, drinking is fine with a coozie, but ya need to be of age.
Only four showed up for the inauguration game, but we had a blast. Starting next week we will be doing it at 5:30pm.
Seriously, everyone should come. Bring your kids, your in-laws, your neighbors. Anyone can play and it is a blast to watch too. I will provide the tunes, the ball, and the cones. I may be able to scrounge up a few extra mallets too.
Sweet. thx. The most important thing is for people to show up. Tell everyone you know. At the least, it will be a great opportunity for some fixed riders to meet and hang out with each other.
Awright, so polo is not very much fun with only one person. I can't imagine what lame excuse could keep people from showing up. So starting next sunday at 5:30 y'all need to come down. There will be beers, and I have a few extra mallets, so no excuses, just be there!
Awright, so, 5:30 pm on sunday we are all meeting up for polo. At about 6:00pm we are all gonna ride over to the new parking garage behind the bus station on 13th and Jefferson. From there we can see the fireworks real good. We willl be drinking and playing polo into the wee hours, so if you show up late, no biggie, just come to the top of the 13th and Jefferson garage roof. We will be getting down.
I am really liking our numbers the past couple weeks and i should have our league established on leagueofbikepolo.com soon. Looking forward to the race friday
polo is getting some numbers. big ups to all the new players learning to play. ill keep playing as long as sean lets me.... sorry bout the broken finger, bent spokes, gouged leggs, and multiple bruises. But its bike polo...
Couldn't upload my photos from last Sunday here, so I posted 'em on my bookface. I have lots more to put up, along with snaps from the Red Room Rampage. Check them out.
Loving all the people showing up every week! So there has been some interest in starting a second weekly game since some of us just can't get enough. So, until I hear further, the weekly schedule for Hardcourt Bike Polo is as such:
Sunday 5:30pm @ Civic Plaza
Wednesday 7:00pm @ North Junior High
If anyone has a better suggestion, just let me know. Mooch and I played at North last Wednesday and it was good, A bit cooler than Civic Plaza, but it is a school, so if you drink, pack your cans out so we don't get yelled at.
every monday i feel like i got run over by a bike freight train.... hmmm..... the numbers are getting better every week. If anyone wants a mallot I just built and painted 13.
Not that I am suggesting that everyone build a polo bike, but if you are unable to stop quickly on your bike, I suggest getting a brake for polo. We are having way too many accidents.
So I have been getting alot of flak for suggesting doing polo on Wednesday night in "conflict" with the wednesday nighter, so we will push it back to Thursday night at 6pm starting next week. I will still be there for this wednesday to make sure that everyone is aware. Also, I think we need to start getting creative about a new venue. I just noticed that the christian community center on 14th and state has the perfect court for polo, but I doubt they would allow drinking. So, if anyone has any suggestions, speak up.
