sorrrrrry i missed it :( I was on my road bike by the time I remembered its a wednesday.. and I dont have brakes on my bike right now / ~60gi.. maybe i'll do it on my road bike with you guys for kicks next week.
No, you were at the right place, just a bit early. I expect we were all just rolling around for a bit before the ride (or in mikes case eating pizza so as to more effectively vomit on the ride). We were wondering where you went/why you left. Maybe I should have stuck around instead of riding off... oh well.
FYI we always leave from CW Moore, and we never leave early... stick around until it's actually 7:30 next time. Ordinarily we leave ~10-15 minutes late because justin doesn't understand the concept of being on time.
@dilonius: psshhh a lack of brakes is hardly an excuse. Road biking it is fine, the time just doesn't 'count' so to speak.
In other self-masturbatory news, I pulled down a new personal best; 25 minutes give or take a few seconds. Hope to see everybody there again next week!
Bloated, we always spell your username correctly....
Furthermore, I think next time you should get it all the facts stated. Not only did I eat pizza but I also drank the hell out of an energy drink. The fish and chips afterward was the perfect cure for vomit taste. As was the beer Justin bought for me.
I was a bit disappointed this week. I think I need to shave my legs or something to get back down to that 27 I was at a few weeks ago.
Haven't updated the state of things in a while now so.... Last week we had our first female rider for the year (ever?!?! You got beat to the punch Jen!). She was no slouch and pulled down a nice 38 minutes for the loop. Not half bad, especially for a first timer! There has also been a couple new faces in the past several weeks and I am stoked about that, I love to see new faces trying the loop out, geared or not. Not to mention that the Wednesday Nighter has been frequently rocking a good turnout, which I'm really pleased to see.
However, after a couple complaints, I'd like to reiterate that this ride isn't about competing against anyone else (unless you get the distinct pleasure of a sprint finish, then damn straight it's a competition!), rather it is entirely about bettering yourself and fighting to beat your own previous best times.
Speaking of best times, tonight I managed, with a lot of luck (and help from Justin himself), to tie the current record for the loop at 24:30. I doubt I will ever reach speeds of this height again, so it is a particularly awesome night for myself.
You'll definitely go faster. You were wearing sneakers for fuck sake! When I get my new bike we'll have to work on breaking the 24 minute barrier together.
