We're Gettin this shit back together, or at least we're gonna try.
Every Wednesday we meet at C.W. Moore park at 7:30pm (this time can change depending on interest, time of year, whatever), where we "race" to hill road -> 36th st -> cartwright rd. and end at the Hyde Park Pub. We usually grab a bite to eat there too. All ages are welcome and it's a pretty fun atmosphere, albeit with a really fast pace, or it used to be anyway.
basic idea of the route: You can take any roads you want to get out to hill road, but from there on it's static.
By the end of last summer Justin had knocked to time to beat down below 25 minutes ( I don't recall your exact time), fixed, but don't expect the be cracking that shit anytime soon. Right now we're mostly all fat and slow, so I expect 'fast' to be sub-30 minute finishes. We traditionally only ever kept track of times done fixed, but you're welcome to come on a geared bike as well. Tell me what you all think, I would really like to see more than just two of us there next week, and in the following weeks/months, s'all I'm sayin.
I get the feeling some of you fellas weren't so honest about showing up (or, indeed, even showing up at the finish *ahem*ralph*ahem*). Doesn't really matter though, I suppose.
Anyway times for this week:
me- brady 28:17 Nick 29:00 Justin: 32:00 Jeff: 32:50 squints/z 35-ish bald sean 37-ish sean#2 dnf
I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who showed up, people showing up is what makes this ride worthwhile. Even though the weather was cold and windy, we go 7 people to bring it, and I'm ecstatic about that. Furthermore, while the best time tonight was sub-30, understand it took us a long time last year to even breach 30 minutes at all. I really hope the same crew (and even more) show up next week. Also, don't forget to attend liverdance 5, if you're not working (quit), that is.
That was the first time I had done the Wednesday nighter. I'm pretty stoked. It was a lot of fun. I want to get down to about 27min. I think I could live with that. Stoked for Liverdance! What's the entrance fee?
There's really no need to make up crap to justify being lazy to us/yourself, the wind on hill was 7-10mph. And yes, we had a perfectly good time riding into that monstrous headwind.
Multiple laps today so no official times will be given. Let's plan on regrouping after each lap; Perhaps at the top of the hill so Brady can't embarrass me with his insane downhill skills.
Last night was rad, I love it when we get people showing up beyond the normal 4. I do believe I set my personal longest time, clocking in at just over 41 minutes. Goddamn flat + overtightened rear wheel collabo. Throwing some more riding in immediately afterwards was great too.
